Adding volume control to a COT50/Electra distortion

I'm building a COT50 clone, but I want to add a volume control to the end. How should I go about doing this? Should I just add a volume pot before the output jack? Do I need to wire a capacitor in to maintain the highs?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The COT50 isnt meant as a boost. Well it does boost your signal slightly, but the idea is more to color you tone.

That being said wire a 100K (A) pot on the output. Lug 3 goes to the output (after the clipping diodes), lug 1 to ground, lug 2 is your FX output.

I used to have a Lovepedal COT50 and while I liked the tone, I could never get unity volume with it. I just want to be able to turn the gain up and manage the volume.
