Hey peeps.

I recently built a ross comp clone from the tonepad layout.  I followed the parts list from the ross list (as opposed to the Dynacomp, you can also build off of the same board)

Here's the link:

http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=9

The pedal sounds (I believe) as it is supposed to, but the amount of compression just seems off the charts.  It gets almost a bit of overdrive... (some dirt) as the gain on the pedal gets turned up, and even at lowest settings, the amount of compression is just way too much for me (and it doesnt sound completely clean, due to this little overdrive)
So... Is there something I can do, to drop the amount of grittyness the pedal has? and the amount of compression? or is that just the ROSS thing?
Swap Op-amp, trannies, resistor changes... anything?
I'm curious, I really need a compressor for some stuff that I play, but this isn't the answer as it stands right now.
Any info would be awesome.

thanks!

Check Vb and the 150k resistor on the OTA output (pin5).
Voltages for IC and pot needed!       :)

Any mods?  I just built one too and tried lowering the .001uf cap that parallels the 150k resistor. The distortion was bad enough to take it back to stock.
