Will this work? - Orange Squeezer

I've been following this layout, except the 4m7 resistor I changed to 1m4 because I didn't have a resistor anywhere near 4m7 and I saw another layout which had the resistor only at 1m5. Does anyone know the change in sound that me using 1m4 will have?

As for everything else I've done it exactly as the layout shows. Will my pedal work?

Yes, that's fine. That just sets the input impedance of the pedal, which really doesn't need to be over 1 meg anyways.

I still love the Orange Squeezer, such a simple design and still sounds fantastic. JFET's as VCR's are a lot of fun to play around with.

I've heard samples of it and I've got the first Dire Straits album, on which Knopfler apparently used an Orange Squeezer for his compression, and I love the funky kinda sound that it has in all these clips.

Hopefully it'll all go smoothly from here!

I used that layout for my orange squeezer. It works fine. I think I have build four or five effects with Torchys layouts and I haven't had any problems.

Just remember that the sweet spot on on the trim pot can be very narrow. There is a lot of threads about this if you search.

Especially a lot of good info by Mark Hammer.

The OS is said to be a subtle effect, but mine is not subtle at all.

sorry, for whatever reason torchy asked me to remove the files from my server (after giving me permission of course). I guess he got mad about something or just didn't want to mess with it anymore, I'm not sure. I had the whole zip available for a long time, surely someone downloaded it and reuploaded it somewhere else, but I'm not sure who or where unfortunately. sorry
