Hi all,

This is my first attempt at a modded clone build. I'm building it as a gift for my brother who wanted a TS with a bass mod, the rest is just because I can :)

Everything seems to be working as it should but I have one question... When switching between the different diodes it gives a brief volume spike (break before make type switch) which I'm guessing this is because the TS is acting like a boost momentarily when no diodes are connected. Is there anyway of minimizing or removing this spike using the switch I have?

Here are a couple of pic's of my beast FWIW ... Note its still a work in progress, the housing will be painted is a solid colour, contrasting paint filled etched lettering etc... Well thats the plan so far anyway. The ext 9v socket & led's will get wired up once the enclosure is all finished

Its a tonepad board I etched, mods based on the screamer lab (beavis audio).
Two stacked opamps - JRC 4558 / LM 833
TS9 - TS808 mod
Clipping options - 1n914/1n914, 1n914/1n4001, LED/LED, IRF520/1n34a/IRF520/1n34a
Bass mod options - .047, .15, .33, .68 caps
Drive boost mod

The spike is only an audible problem, it won't do any damage. Wouldn't it be best to move the switch with the effect off? Will there ever be a need to change the diodes in the middle of playing something?
Bringing you yesterday's technology tomorrow.

Backing off the level before switching is what I have been doing and it seems fine. I was just wondering if anything else could be done without too much trouble, if not I'll live with it :)
