Hi  All
I just finished the layout for the John Hollis Zombie Chorus. From what i have heard on Youtube it sounds really good so I have drained my pockets and ordered some 4 MN3007 from Banzai at the ghostly cost of €8.66 Smallbear have them for $10.95  but the shipping and tax costs.

Here is the layout If anyone feel the urge to try. Cut away lug 13-15 on CD4046

Are there not cheaper alternatives for the IC's?

Hi
Question:
Is the +V to Pin 14 of the CD4046 necessary??. On the original chem its there on R.G:s Schem its not but on R.G:s PCB layout it reapperes
Its obviously some kind of Zener diode protection as i read from the Spec Doc. but what if i leave it out I would like the place so I can omit the jumper under the CD 4046

I have updated the layout with this and some trace fixes.

Very cool! I was asked to do a chorus in an A size enclosure. I was not to eager to try to shrink the layout...

You squeezed it into a 1590A - you insane fool!  :icon_mrgreen:

Well this... this is just silly... this can't fit in a 1590B... can it? And you're not even using SMD you mad man!

I can't really tell from the layout, but do you have suitable decoupling for the two dual op-amps in order to prevent audible LFO ticking?

I suppose so since the layout i based upon the John Hollis original Zombie Chorus design and some parts from R.G:s adding (See the PDF file)
Can thet have an effect for nedding V+ on Pin 14 on the CD4046??

YES
Just fired up this thing . Works like a charm and sounds marvelous. THAKS JOHN You are a true king of designing good stuff with minimum components. I might shrink the easy vibe in to a 1590  :D :D quad Op amps and one LED 4 LDR might do the trick.
But as far as the Zombie, Its stands up to any BOSS, Fulltone  or Digitech you trough at it.

And yes I chickend out and used a socket for the BBD. Those are costly little buggers  you don't wana waist

PS. layout and dokuments in this tread are updated

No
Its more of a depth switch. It alters the intencity.

Cool design!  Might try building this with one of the MN3007s I have around.   My guess is that the switch doubles the clock frequency to shift the delay time up to more of an ADT range.

anyone know of a vibrato built in this size??? I wanna run it in the loop of a delay.

If you turn the speed up on the zombi it can really sound like a Vibrato or a lesley

I etched the nevermind chorus posted by solder man. The pcb I came out with is too big to fit in a 1590a. Does anyone know what the pcb measurements have to be to fit in the 1590a? According to Hammond's website my pcb which I printed from the PDF is like .2-.3 inches too big. Anyone lend some sage counsel?

I'm guessing solderman used something other than a 1590A.
