Are there any non-wah pedals that fit well into a wah chasis??  I have a Jimi Hendrix crybaby and mr Crybaby and pretty much don't like wah these days.  Since I could prob get limited money from them, I thought of turning them into something totally different.  Maybe an adjustable tremolo?  Or rotovibe/uni-vibe (I remember seeing a rotovibe in a wah casing), adjustable phaser?  Any ideas or circuits?  Thanks guys!

I'm thinking about building a delay in a wah case, and have the delay knob be foot-adjustable.

One i would like to put in a wah enclosure is a whammy effect. Schematics anyone ? I imagine complicated to build s it would probs have to be a digital  DSP effect.

There are Whammy schematics on the web, but they're useless if you don't have the firmware and the means to program the EEPROM.

Yep, basically everything using LFO modulation.. and don't forget to put there switch for switching LFO to high-speed mode (from LF to audio frequencies) to get tunable ring modulation - pretty wild ;)

I've done this with a delay pedal (a slightly modded First Act Delay) with the rocker controlling the delay time.  I put the pot from the wah in series with the original one and put another pot in parallel with it to control the range of the sweep.

The delay time is essentially a control for the speed of the playback and recording, so in addition to being able to adjust the delay time with my foot, while the pedal is moving the record and replay speeds will be different, resulting in pitch changes on playback.  Depending on the settings, I can get pitch shifts ranging from a fairly subtle vibrato to several octaves.  It is a bit difficult to control (the pitch shift depends on the speed and direction the pedal is moving, not the position), though, so it can take a bit of experimenting and practice to consistently get a given sound out of it.

a vibe ? (as rotovibe)
a freaky fuzz  with a control on rocket pedal ?
a good volume pedal with a good buffer ?
a flanger ?
a phaser (Dunlop did a special edition like that with the phase90)

Ring mod now that's an interesting idea!! Any good schematics for one that I could make with the wah being the speed?  The Mr Crybaby has a pot coming out of the side, that could serve as the mix/intensity knob.  That'd be pretty sweet.

Would univibe work in this case?

In theory, you can make anything work in a wah case. It's just a matter of picking which knob you want to control with your foot.

True, just wondering if was possible to fit the whole uni-vibe circuit in a wah case.  I know the old ones were 2 pieces (right?) so not sure if fitting it into one case would work.  Yea thanks for the suggestions guys.  I think I'll do uni-vibe (or roto vibe) and the ring mod.  That'd be pretty sweet.

A feedback looper where the rocker controls the amount of feedback is really handy.  Although it does feel like a shame to waste all that space on such a small amount of circuitry.

I'd like to someday try to make a flanger that can be toggled between the wah treadle controlling the LFO speed and a manual sweep. Another idea I'd like to try is a low-pass filter, with the treadle controlling the cutoff. I'd probably stick a knob out the side, with a Dunlop type rubber knob cover, so I could change the resonance without having to bend over. But if I got too into it, I'd probably want an envelope generator as well.

The GEO neovibe was designed to fit inside of a wah case, so that should not be a problem.  The Kay pedals would work, the tremolo was a wah pedal design that adjusted speed, in fact any tremolo could work using the wah as a speed control and add a depth knob on the side of the pedal. Personally I have a Kay Fuzztone inside of a wah pedal, sounds cool.  Even better, in my pedal I have the Kay fuzz tone and a modded Green Ringer set up so I can use a 6p2t switch to select between either.  The green ringer is modded to produce an octave only sound with the pedal toe down and a dry clean sound heel back, I wanted it to sound like a whammy, its more of a wah-mmy than a whammy though.
