No,

different animal. The 386 is not a dual opamp.

D'oh! I was thinking LM358

feel free to send me some $$$$$  :D

If I had any money, I would  :-[. The times are hard. I can't afford to build anything right now.

Firstly, holy wow this is an awesome circuit! I got mine to work. After leaving it for a day and coming back with fresh eyes, I noticed straight away that I had forgotten to link the input to the IC... the simplest thing really  ::). In my defence though, this is the first time I have done anything with perfboard or p2p wiring.

I'm struggling with the wiring of the blend pot though. In the schematic, it would appear that the middle lug of the blend pot would go to the middle lug of the volume pot via a 100n cap (C13 in the schematic). Is this correct? I'm getting massive volume drops through the middle of the the blend pot turn. I've tried it without the cap but it's done nothing to change it. It's actually also only playing the delayed notes too, rather than the initial strum, then the delayed note.

The middle lug of the blend pot goes to the top lug of the volume pot, via the 100n cap, the middle lug of the volume pot is the output and the bottom lug goes to ground.

I'm already planning to build 2 Echo Bases, so I'm thinking about adding this envelope control as a switchable mod rather than building a separate circuit for this.

Would I just want to take the input-386-LED-LDR bit and have a switch that selects either that or the Echo Base's mod section? Is there anything else going on in this circuit that I would lose with this approach?

Yes, very much verified! A very worthwhile build too

Just make sure you have the pots wired correctly before you solder them. I had to experiment to get them connected correctly. Use the schematic for this, not the perf. layout.

You're gonna like this one if you are 1/2 half the lover of unusual textures that I am! (Hmmm, that came out wrong somehow...)

I just built this using ckyvicks layout. It's awesome! I would really like to Paypal Doug a beer (or 6) if I could.......

I'm sure Doug wouldn't mind 5 bucks in his Paypal...
