Hi Folks,

New here so be gentle.... I'm not the brightest LED in the pack...I tried asking questions at another electronics forum....and they asked what a stompbox was....so I knew I was in the wrong place !!! So I joined here to hopefully get answers.

I am using a TC Electronic G-Sharp rack mount effects unit in my effects send/return jacks on my amp....works great --highly recommended. However, when you use a footswitch with the unit, it only shows the Effects Status by the tempo LED on the front of the unit. It doesn't show Reverb status (on/off) or Effects Status (only the flashing LED to let you know) I'm constantly turn around and walk over to the unit onstage to see status of the unit. So, I am trying to build a footswitch which will show the status of the following: Effects In/Out, Reverb on/off and Tap Tempo. I tried a Digi-Tech 3 button footswitch from my Jam Man and it works perfectly but has no LED's to show status.
It uses 3 momentary switches and has a couple of diodes going to the tip and sleeve pins on the 3 cond. Jack. I do have a digital voltmeter but I do not know how to test/read the values of those diodes. Not sure of the procedure.

So how do I get LED status?
I realize that some type of latching circuit is needed...and some type of power is required which I could get from the pedalboard which is of course, 9v.. . And no, I've tried the push on/push off type switches. You have to hit them twice to change reverb or effects ....not cool or usable.

And for the ultimate question,  the tap tempo is there a circuit that can mimic the tempo you tap in.??

I'm sure I'm not alone in a project like this..... it would be greatly useful in other projects as well....

So can someone help me out?   Thanks in advance....
