Burned transistor on a green ringer or what?

Hello!
I just made a newbies project (but it is not my first project), a Green Ringer. After plugging it, I saw that there was a little shortcut when I plug the jack, so the effect do not work. So I removed the problem. But now when I start the effect, the sound is distorded (and I can ear very far the effect). It's like a big "Krrrrrrrrrrrrrr" when I play on the guitar. The more stronger I play the guitar the more it distord. Could it be one of the transistor burned?  :icon_question: I double checked everything, connexion, soldering, input voltage, bypass... But I don't know how to check the transistor (2N5088 x2 and one 2N3906). I read too that sometimes distortion can occur with non biased transistor... This is the tonepad green ringer.
Thanks for helping.

Read "Debugging: What to do when it doesn't work" and follow the directions.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

So finaly, it seems that this is the sound of the green ringer :icon_redface:. I tried it with another guitar, neck pu, and it works as it should... I think I has too much expectation!!! (I expected it to sound like a whammy set on octave up with some glitch...). Sorry for all of that. You could delete my post if you want. Anyway, I'll have to debug a Ultimate loaded Phaser, so I'll follow the rules! Thanks a lot! :icon_biggrin:
