When I built the Boubombilzoo I looked at the whole project as solving problems one by one. Any new idea adds a problem to be solved.

One of the problems that I never really solved was/is the fact that when the booster is at full gain and full volume the op-amp buffer clips.
I tried a 5.1v zener at the Op amp's input, and this only added distortion. I figured that since the thing is mine that I would just turn the volume down. I don't really know what to expect from the op amp.

The problem is that now the Jfet side is emitting a sputtering hiss. This makes me think that I may have abused the buffer too much.
I will go ahead and take this thing apart again and try to get some data. The first thing I'll do is replace the op amp.

In the meantime could someone take a look at the schematic and see if there is something I'm missing.
The only thing that I can remember from reading here is that an op amp's input can be broken over. I am not sure but I think that the solution/ prevention of this condition involves a diode pointing up at V+ from the input and a diode pointing up to the input from ground.
Is this correct?
Doesn't this cause clipping?

Any answers or advice are appreciated.
thanks
