Ok, that's what I figured.  What would be the purpose of having that on a switch?  Is there any particular reason why a person couldn't just skip the on/off LED on a 3PDT, go with a DPDT switch, and use D1 as an on/off indicator instead?

SonicVI

I left speed LED off the switch and had it on all the time and used a second LED for on/off status.

I realize that this may seem overly simplistic and won't solve your dilema as you speak, but how about just ordering the right caps?  Btw, be careful of the voltage of those 1uf film caps...some places sell the 400v or 630v variety, and they massive in size.  You want the miniaturized Panasonic Es, or similar.  SB has them, as does digikey.

That's rather odd...that post was meant for an enirely different thread!  Not that those who know me haven't ever considered me displaying characteristics of multiple personalities from time to time!

Hi
As I have inturpede the schematics this is the whole purpous of the switch it is not meant to be a hand controlled switch its meant to symbolice the LED on/off part of the 3DTP.
I took a 2 color common cathode LED and used the 3:d row on the 3DTP to switch between red and green. This way i can see the speed in red when the bypass is on and in green when the effect is engaged.

but... then again some builders use the millennium bypass and that wold be a different story.

Yeah, after thinking about this some more, I figured that was the case.  I was overdue for a good humbling, I guess!

Although you COULD use a second switch there, just in case having that little blinking red light down there was driving you nuts, ha ha.

That's what I did w/ mine, the LED would drive me crazy otherwise.
