Some kind of dual ganged pot, Like you see on a sparkledrive.

if i wanted to blend 2 components, how would i wire a dual-gang? it has 6 lugs and i have one ground and 2 positives. can it be done?

A pure "blend pot" setup is really quite simple. Just use a linear taper pot and wire one signal source to lug 1, the other signal source to lug 3 and the output (blended signal) to lug 2. Perhaps the most common use of this arrangement is in the Big Muff tone control. It simply consists of a high pass filter and a low pass filter that are blended together through a linear pot.  The size of pot you use will be determined by the input impedance of the next stage. The two "halves" of the pot (from lug 1 to 2 and from lug 3 to 2) form voltage dividers with the input impedance of the next stage. Common values are 50K and 100K.
