ok so i've been modding my gcb95 crybaby like crazy.  wen i finally finished some select mods i plugged it in and noticed a rediculous boost in volume wen turned on.  so i undid the volume boost mod and the gain and bass response mod (both featured on http://www.wah-wah.co.uk/) and i'm still getting a rediculous boost.

the only mods i have still on it now are the sweep, vocal, midrange, true bypass w/o buffer and LED.  please help

how i can fix this volume boost.  i want the same volume wen i turn the wah on as when its off

Undo the mods and bring it back to stock. Re-do the mods - one at a time - to figure out which mod is your culprit. Or just undo the remaining mods one at a time, listening to the circuit carefully as you go.

Either that, or be more specific as to which mods you did. Show us the modified schematic, and someone may be able to point out exactly what to do to fix the volume problem while keeping your mods in place.

My guess is that it might have something to do with the removal of the buffer section. I would try messing with the gain on that first transistor to see if I could get bypass and effect modes closer to eachother in terms of volume level. And in addition maybe also replace that first transistor with a lower gain type.

One thing you could do to narrow down the possibilities is to feed your pedal a test signal from an audio oscillator and follow the signal path around with an audio probe until you find the place where there is a big jump in volume. That will be the most likely suspect...
