Man, that's some good stuff. When are you going to release a CD? Put on the list to buy it.

Great tune.

Allan
Thanks man! I'm getting ready to put out a new CD and "Don't Make Me Beg" will be on it!

Leroy, you're amazing! I listened to it 3 times before figuring out that it was on auto-repeat LOL!

Thank you!!! Nice pedal BTW...
Here's another clip of a TS808 I just finished!

I'm relatively new to building pedals but I built one that I'm quite proud of.  It's a twin tube overdrive that started as a valvecaster but turned into its own thing after spending weeks on a breadboard.  I recorded this sample at home with my SG Special into the pedal straight into my cornford harlequin amp:

http://homepage.mac.com/dshimmyo/musicForBlog/blinky01Test.mp3

This is an impromptu jam with me on guitar and my friend on drums.  I'm using the twin tube overdrive for almost the entire jam. Somewhere in the middle my other two friend showed up after their smoke break and added their whackiness.  I'm playing with my whole pedalboard so there's some flanger, analog delay, and compressor in there, maybe a little phaser and wah as well.  I'm still playing the SG Special but I'm using the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier amp that was provided by the rehearsal studio.  It's a pretty loose jam but you should get a good idea of the sounds that I can get with my overdrive pedal:

And here's a pic:

and gut shot:

Your sound clip there was the reason I started in building the valvecaster. :P Any chance you might write up what you changed from the stock schematic? The night I played your clip was the night I told my roommate, I'm building a tube pedal. Still have yet to get it working but I'm hopeful I'll manage to fix it somehow.

Here's another clip from my soon to be released cd. I used a BYOC ESV Fuzz Face clone and a "volume in a box" to get the cleaner tones. Hendrix wah for the solo...

BYOC ESV FUZZ

Guitar volume in a box.
I love this box, it allows me to get that perfect crunch tone out of my Fuzz and then when I turn it off it's full on solo tone! This box gives all my Fuzz/OD pedals a dual life!

here is my "breadboarded" roger mayer octavia clone. I play it through my vamp pro(sorry it was 3 am)..it sounds much better in my amp(solid state :icon_neutral:) so i will post another clip later..without the sloppy playing je :icon_lol:
At first you hear the vamp pro only(marshall simulation...supposedly :icon_rolleyes:) then i turn on and off the effect with my hand because the breadboard is on my specially design proto-box...hahaha it's just a shielded shoe box :icon_mrgreen:

Great playing. I like that lick at twenty seconds. Eric Johnsonish.

Here's a Lovepedal Eternity I built. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdKH1658XRo

thanks.... :icon_redface:
mmm...yeah i bought it because i was looking for something to plug direct to my PC and record demos, or for plug to a mixer when i have no amp...or maybe just to practice with headphones.
sounds pretty decent for those situations: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6734517

the thing is i cant never use it on a "serius situation"(playing live, recording session, etc), because i think you can (and must) get the best sound or tone in those situations with "real" equipment

...it cost me 130$, so the price-quality relation is more than OK for me :icon_wink:

THOMMO

Clip of my LPB-1 clone. I think I had it on full volume and used the guitars volume to demonstrate
the boostage.  http://www.box.net/shared/ck84q15rdi
Here's a pic:(waiting for wifes painting skills to hit)

And a clip of my Fuzz Face. It's the lead tone. You may fall asleep if you try to get to the end of this one!!! ;D

hey jason, what transistor do you use for the LPB?

I like my boss ds1 monte allums tri gain mod. I did it myself. Clips at http://www.reverbnation.com/hoostavah

I used a 2N3904. It's pretty crunchy!
I tried a few different ones, but the result was basicaly the same. So I stuck with the 3904.

Sweet! Do you have a schematic for this? If not, would you be willing to point me in a direction where I could find out more about the method you used for CV control?

I can supply an old schematic of the CV section for my Gatewidth modulator which uses similar circuitry in my PM.

R1-3-5-6-2 should be 1M's for correct linearity. You could get reverse polarity using NPN's like Tim (Circuit Snippet) uses but it has a chif/clip when sweeping the pulsewidth. If you have any further questions either PM me or mshaner84@gmail.com . I wouldn't want to hijack this thread with questions about my projects ;D

Hey Mark,

Are you making the pulsemonger again? I remember you got out of it for awhile. This is a cool pedal, for sure...

Very nice, Leroy!

Here's a mod on an MXR Distortion plus. I added LED clipping. It sounds fantastic!
