Help with DOD280

I used the tonepad layout and with or without the led parts I get a distorted low signal. Anyone had this problem? Does it matter what type of switching tranny you use or what single op amp? thanks

Tell us what you used and then we can tell you if it's ok. But the answer is yes it does matter.

no answers as of yet but a couple questions that might solve my problem.

Is it safe to assume that a j201 is a good replacement for a 2n5485. I think the answer is yes but just checking.

What is a good replacement for the lm358? I have lm741's, tl071, tl081, tl072

The J201 should work fine for the millenium.

You can Google the data sheets to see if any of the opamps are suitable replacements. 

First step is to verify your pinouts.  Second step is posting voltages.

Yes I have built this and I believe that little bit of distortion is the nature of the beast.  I tried everthing and could never get rid of it. It's a shame really since besides the forementioned problem it is a cool compressor.  For a similar but better opti-comp try the John Hollis Flatline.  You'll need some 1n34a GE diodes for this though.
