50 bucks, and the pickups are amazing!  the neck sounds better than the neck in my 89 sg custom

Wow, you guys have good yard sales where y'all live. That's a good deal, can't beat that.

That would have been the find of the century for me... I love the Explorer and am trying to raise money to buy an Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top... This would have totally fit the bill. I want a Gibson/Epiphone now because most of what I play is Classic/Hard Rock and my Ibanez... It just doesn't seem to quite do it. It feels... dis genuine somehow. Also the flat neck hurts my fingers... :(

Lil OT - I personally dislike ibane$!!! Sell that piece of scrapwood and go ebaying for an ol' american Kramer (I have some and they were the best...) - there were other good brands, but ibbies...well...Maybe until the first 90s...
Done an' workin'=Too many to mention - Tube addict!

+ 1 on the Ibanez.  Sold my RG450 LTD for a Telecaster and haven't looked back.

My thumb used to really ache after a couple of hours playing - now it's just my ears!   :icon_redface:

Picked up an old Arion SDA-1 (I think) - an early digital sampler / delay. It ate batteries, but was a lot of fun.

Found it in a local music shop and paid less than 20 quid for it. The guy in the shop didn't know what he had.

Same with a PRS Santana SE I found for 90 pounds in a 'Cash Converters' store near work.  This thing was immaculate.

Really pleasant surprise few years ago when diggin' in old-crap-"all for 30CZK*"-box in one local HW bazaar :)

It's 100% functional and turned to be very handy (it's bit slow /up to few kHz signals/, but it has 12-bit precission and very good SW downloadable for free, it's even supported by some LAB soft, LabVIEW namely).

You need a glade plug-in, in on a footswitch.  Kick on the big muff, then hit the air freshener pedal.

I got an Epiphone Firebird VII in unplayed condition at a pawn shop for $200. It has replaced my Gibson LP studio as my primary guitar.

I got an excellent dual channel sony stereo amp for free.

I got an Aria electric that plays great and looks really funky from goodwill for $25.

And I got a orange and brown plad suit from goodwill for $4.50

That's a cool deal. The pawn shops here where I live are ridiculous. I have seen crappy guitars hanging in the pawn shop with a price tag higher than the things would have cost new.  :icon_rolleyes:

It sucks here for yard sales and pawn shops.  :icon_mad:

Went to visit the in-laws this weekend and some guy had some boxes of free stuff on the corner.
Looked inside and saw 4 gigantic bags of old-school capacitors (the kind that were dipped in wax) and 50 or so odd-looking potentiometers.
Some of them probably cathode bias pots (2 inches around, no shaft, just a screwdriver slot) and a few big rheostats to boot.
also a handful of odd tubes that are look used or bad. Haven't tested them yet.

Not bad for free!

I had to resurrect this topic because I had a killer craigslist find the other day:

A Hammmond M-3 with a Leslie cab...  :icon_eek:

Guess how much...

FREE!

The people we got it from recently took it off their grandparents, who moved to another state, and they had no idea what to do with it. They tried hooking it up but it didn't work, even though it apparently worked at their grandparents house just before they moved states. So I am taking a look, seems like it might be a simple power amp problem, cause the motor system works beautifully! Haven't tried the leslie cab yet, they couldn't find the hammond->leslie cable to give to me.

So. Psyched. OMG.

I also had some fun cause I have always wanted to see the hammond motor system in action. Such a neat device.

my friend gave me a dbx dual comp gate rack unit for a 12 pack of beer. i had been using it for a long time and i said "what do you want for that?" he told me to buy the case of beer for the jam session that night and split it with him. :icon_lol:
