Using a scope to setup a delay pedal?

I got my hands on an oscilloscope and would like to attempt to setup an old Memory Man delay pedal correctly. Could anyone offer some guidance? I don't even know where to begin  :icon_redface:

"Setup"? Do you mean fix from a non-working condition?

Yeah, it has a few issues dealing with the BBD chips. I'd imagine it just needs to be "setup" as if I just built it.

You can check the clock signals by a scope and you can use scope to set BBD DC bias properly (put signal from generator at input and set bias for maximal unclipped signal at the output - you can find some factory setup instructions e.g. at nelson's page or in BBD datasheet)..

I have the same question as the OP ... so how do you do that? What are you looking for? I have an old Tokai MN3205-based analog delay that has a lot of clock noise and I'd like to try to get it in spec but don't know where to begin.
What do you do -- throw a sine wave through it into an oscilloscope, then what do you look for?
Thanks
