Hi Folks!

I've seen this from a trade marked delay. I've an idea of applying this mod to rebote delay.

Then youre playing if you want to change the delay time you get modulated sound and have to acces the delay pot. I've an idea to put a double delay time pot to rebote delay and swtich between them.

You combine some same legs of 2399 and and some legs for swtiching. Actally ist the idea of swtiching the outputs of 2399.

here some pictures about it

You can connect the yellow marked legs together like this. 5. leg will be connedted nowhere. and swtich the 11 & 12 legs swtich a DPDT

Has anyone tried it ?
Waiting for discussions...

Thanks

I didn't take a close look at your diagram, but I am curious how you will deal with the degradation in the delay sound that PT2399 exhibit? I modded my Rebote 2.5 to have longer delays by changing the delay time pot, but my longest delays start to "spit and crackle". I went as far as I thought would be useful, and it definately wasn't 2x the length...

I think what he actually means is that you stack the chips, connecting the legs show with yellow dots together, and have a second delay time pot for the second chip. The switch toggles between the outputs of each chip in the hope of having two switchable delay times, not twice the length.

I can't say I know a great deal about the internals of the PT2399, but I don't think it'll work as shown. The input of both chips is connected no matter how the switch is set so there'll be delay happening in both of them and I reckon having pins 9 & 10 joined on both chips will carry signal from one to the other.

Dop, I think you are right Anchovie. Double it as in create a 2nd delay. That would be cool if you could adjust 2 delay's time seperately and mix the result. I guess that is a "dual tap" delay.

Yes, I think the best way to do this would be to have two separate PT2399s rather than trying to hack-and-stack with the Rebote layout. Then as well as switching from one to the other you can also have both on to create "ping pong" delays like you suggest.

MY tought was having different delay times in as delay stomp for switch between them.

With doc_drop's suggestions I've updated the layout

I've remove pin 13 & 14 stack for deny the amplification of delay 2 times. Ive give 9 & 10 pin connection seperately. I'didnt remove 16 & 15 conneciton for delay in but I'm not sure of that

Are you going to breadboard this? I am really curious to hear what kind of results you get! :o

Why dont you just use 3pdt and switch pots?
