EA Trem speed control issues

Seems as though almost all of the speed change occurs within a VERY narrow span, at around 3:00, making it very difficult to fine tune.  It acts as if a different taper pot is needed there.  Has anyone examined this and found a "cure" for it?  Would a reverse audio pot work better in this position?

This is the layout I built from:

Yes, a reverse log pot works extremely well. I'm using a normal audio taper pot wired in reverse right now. It does the trick if you don't mind that you have to turn counter-clockwise for a faster rate.

Ok, cool...rev audio it is then!

I breadboarded one last weekend.  Didn't have reverse log so I made one from 100k linear after re-reading secret life of pots. Seems to work well.  Thanks again R.G.

You can always use a normal log pot and legend the chassis for clockwise being slower.  All the anti-log does is make clockwise the faster direction.  No reason why counter-clockwise can't be the faster direction.

What does this mean?

Hi
it simply means write "fast" on the left and "slow" on the right.
Think brake instead of accelerator.

I sure don't see how this resolves the problem of most of the speed control bunching up at one end of the pot.  Seems as though all this would do is change that bunched up control from one side of the pot to the other.  If the AMZ mosfet boost is a reasonable comparison, I would think that reverse log is what will solve this.
