Midi to Digitech RP500/RP1000

Hello,
Is it possible to modify the RP500/RP1000 units to be controlled by MIDI instead by the regular switches build in the units, therefore making them way more flexible? I'm really serious about getting one and the lack of MIDI support is the only thing that's stopping me.

Don't this so mate. I don't see an MIDI connections on the back of that unit. Grafting them in would be a very expensive process. Doubtful it'd be even worth trying. Why don't you look at the GSP1101 instead? That's the same chip, same algorithms, but a rack unit and setup for MIDI control already.

Assuming that everything in the unit is driven off one or two DSP chips and there's no external chips for processing MIDI or driving the displays you'll need the pinouts for the DSP chips. If they're all the same as the GSP unit I'll bet there's just unconnected pins for MIDI. Best bet would be to compare a GSP schematic to an RP500 schematic.

This is beyond hard. I'd say it's not possible. Better to buy a unit with MIDI support.

I was going to order one of their kits to see if I could build an outboard unit for my Loopholic that would give me direct access to all 10 loops.
