Just to preface, I have no relation to this company, this is just something I've tried and was impressed with.

There's an excellent signal generator program called SignalSuite by a Faber Accoustical in the App Store that is perfect for DIY pedal stuff. It does all types of wave forms, noise, panning, sweeps... pretty much anything useful I think.

Anyway, it's 10 bucks and I like it so I thought I'd mention it. Theres also a scope program by the same company but I haven't tried that one.

(Bad pic, sorry)

Looks kinda cool I just searched them on the Appstore on my iPhone, Signalsuite is retailing at £5.99 and Signalscope is at £14.99 here in the UK.  Too pricey for me to give it a go....

Ben Faber is a friend of mine (we went to school together) and his stuff is top notch.  He has a program for macs that is about the best acoustics software for the price.  My only concern about the signal analyzer (not generator) is that those programs are designed to use a good test caliber mic.  But rest assured that it is a good product (I have no affiliation with his company, btw).

There is a more basic signal generator for $.99 (in Canada anyways) called Oscillator.

Fewer features, not as pretty

It does sine waves, triangle waves saw tooth and white noise.

I have no affiliation with this product , just passing along information.

Great idea. Now all I need is an iPhone!

I should just record some wave forms on my old iPod and use that for testing.

Whoa

That is cool. My friend has the 4 track recorder app on his. Pretty impressive.

...an even cooler Iphone app just launched is the Peterson strobe tuner software for Iphone. I have one of their Stroboflip tuners which is amazingly accurate. At the price of the Iphone software ($10) you'd be mad not to get this tuner if you own an Iphone or Ipod touch. I haven't tried it myself yet but I think I might get it as a portable tuning option to have for rehearsals etc. No, I don't work for Peterson :-)  My Stroboflip is accurate enough to reliably set intonation. Here's hoping the iphone version is as accurate.

Old topic I know. Just wondering if anyone is using the Signalscope app?
