Anybody got the specs (or a schem) for the NYC/USA Big Muff that's currently being made? (not Little Big Muff)

I've got a couple of others (GGG & 'boutique-modified-Triangle') in the works, but wouldn't mind having one of these as well. I had one (non-DIY) years ago and it had a ridiculous amount of gain.

Thanks - saw those, but wasn't sure if the 'American reissue' or Third Edition was released prior to the Russian versions.

I have the 2008 schem, I'll pm it to you later.

Bucksears

Thanks BB - looking forward to it.

i opened a recent USA big muff and it looks exactly like the schem at "pisotones.com"

Which schem? 'Third version' or 'American reissue'?

I don't know when the 'Third version' came out, but I'm trying to recreate the (heavy, thick) sound of the one I bought new in '02.

cpm

yes, "american reissue": http://www.pisotones.com/BigMuffPi/psst/schm-american.jpeg

mine for some numbers on pcb i may guess it was from 2005, i dont really know.
by the way i didnt like it at all, too much bass farting past the middle of the sustain pot, so changed some bits to my own tastes

the 2000 model differs from the 08 model. you'l know if you have an 08 model because the PCB is blue and the 3PDT is connected to it with grey ribbon cable.and the PCB will have "3003-C" on it. 2000 models are "3003-A". theres also the 2007 model, of which not many where made, they are "3003-B" and you'd be lucky to find one, they dont realy differ much to the 2008 model though, just a couple of values.

I hate how there is so much variation.. especially within a certain type.

Such a pain in the ass  >:(

I found a gut shot of a 3003-A board and there appears to be just a couple of differences in that and the 'American Reissue' schem mentioned above.

The 1M resistor to ground on the schem is 2.2M on the board.
On the board, there are two 220uF el caps to ground, probably connected to the 9v rail.
On the board, there is a 1.5k resistor that I can't quite trace - might be connected to the LED?

Other than that, it looks pretty accurate.

BTW, heres a good BMP site with tons of pics. (some of my muffs are shown)
BUT, not all the info is correct so be aware.

yes those "external" componentes are like you said, 2nd order power filetring 2*(100R+220uF), 1k5 for led, 2M2 pulldown at input.

Bumblebee, what info have you found that is not correct? Any input is welcome.
