So I need to place a DIP IC where a ZIP IC is originally soldered.
Tough cookies, because they don't follow the same pinout/order. As in, pin 1 of ZIP isn't the same as pin 1 of DIP.
Only two pins share the same location.
The chip involved is a 41256 (Thanks Ron!!)
First I'll have to think on it on how am I gonna do it.
I've thought of making a little PCB, where pins 1 to 8 of DIP are organized in one side, and pins 9 to 16 are organized on the other side of the board. Other option will be to make a pcb for the socket, and then wire each pin one by one with.... wire.
The pcb of the original pedal IS double-sided, and traces can be lifted rather easily, so I can't mess with it too much

Here's where I'm at :P :

So yeah, leave your comment, insight, insult  ;)

I guess you can just solder leads from the pcb to a Dip socket and put the IC in the socket... You could make a small adapter PCB , I"ve done it so I can use 2 single IC"s in place of a dual IC ....

Yeah, small daughterboard is probably the way I'm going to do it.
I've searched for DIP to ZIP converters, but no luck.
