I build some amp footswitch pedals utilizing ethernet cat-5e cable for the wire. I cannot find a suitable grommet to snuggly hold the cable into the enclosure, while also protecting the cable from the enclosure. can anyone point me to a suitable product?

I prefer something like this with a round hole...

The only place I have found them online is at amp supply places like angela.com and tedweber.com.  They have different sizes so you should be able to pick what you need.  They are round rubber grommets at both places.

I've used the Radio Shack rubber grommets for a similar application. I was happy with the results. Just use one that has a slightly smaller inside diameter than your cable's o.d., and they hold pretty snugly.

As for the radio shack grommets, i have them, but it doesn't hold as good as I would like.

I've used the grommet solution as well, like you though the cable just slips through, so I put a loop in it and tie it down with one of these ...

I actually called them and tried all their connectors on an ethernet cable and said they had none that would fit snuggly. I order my plastic jacks for .33 cents a piece from them though, best deal i know of!!
I think I have a source for what I need now, I'll post it when I receive to know for sure.

great link!! Thanks...  The only issue I have is knowing the right one to buy. i'm not sure the exact diameter of mt ethernet cable (cat5e). Can anyone hlep there? I have a micrometer, but need to learn how to read it...

sorry...no help there but I've used them before when they're too big for the cable, simply get a zip tie, wrap it around the cable on the inside of the enclosure...it won't get pull out.
