GGG Guvnor: smoother decay?

Is there any way to smooth out the clipping decay on a Guv'nor? I've noticed that it 'fizzes' out a bit when you let a chord ring out to silence. I'm sure that's the nature of clipping LEDs, but is there any small changes that can be made?
Thanks,

try diode combination.. i tried every possible diode combination and i ended up with LED on the first and 2 1n4148 in series on the second..

btw, i built the tonepad version..

good luck! ;)

Build it as well (GGG).
i used 3mm red led low current (2 mA)
i have try a bunch others but never find better

Hey all, first post here. Good community you have going here.

I have a Danelectro Daddy-O which is very close to the guvnor (3 band EQ, LED clipping, pretty much everything but the op amp).

I set up a mini rotary switch and a bunch of sockets so I could switch between clipping options. Eventually I settled on a IRF520 mosfet and a 1N914 running against a single IRF520. You could also try running a .01uf capacitor to ground in parallel with clipping LEDS to smooth out some of the highs.
