Hey :icon_razz:

I was brainstorming about the best ways to boost volume for solos and I had this idea : could I make a remote controlled clean boost that would be in the fx loop of my solid-state marshall ? Like having the boost hooked up to the loop with patch cables and the boost switch on the floor with my other pedals...

Thing is actually, I would love to build a system like RG's Programmable FX Switcher with Amp Controls but I don't have enough experience or knowledge in electronics. That's why I'd like to stick with simplest solution for now.

Anyways, thanks for reading - I appreciate any kind of input or ideas you guys might want to share  :icon_wink:.

Simple. Put a dpdt relay in a box with an in and an out, and a volume knob and a cap. You wire a 1/4" jack to break the positive connection in the dc power to the relay. now you have remote control.
The idea is, that the volume turns your volume down from full volume to rhythem volume. When you bypass the volume knob, you get full volume. I make exactly this. If you're interested, pm me.

your idea might work, but is not the "right" way. Trixdropd ´s way is closer. You dont want long cables with guitar signal going in and out of the amp. the remote control should control the switch, and all the signal should be inside the amp or very near to it. Check mesa boogie´s dual rectifier "solo" swhitch, is quite like as Trixdropd mentioned.
