Someone recently told me in an email, speaking of commercially offered tremolo pedals, that "the only problem i've found is that with the less expensive pedals, you get a trem noise even when its off."

Has anyone also found this to be true? And if so, what is the best remedy for that? To true bypass the pedal?

Perhaps, but it could also be more of a design issue. I guess sometimes you do get what you pay for.  :icon_sad:

i always make the lfo not run at all while in bypass mode for far of that happening, and it's not too hard to happen.
Blood, Sweat & Flux. Pedals made with lasers and real wires!

It seems to me that you could convert one of those tremolo pedals to a grounded circuit input true bypass scheme, and in theory the problem would be fixed.

Grounding the input would be a good first step, if that doesn't work then muting the LFO or even perhaps grounding the output might be a good idea.
