What's the best way to connect the LED leads to the rest of the wiring? Do you twist them together and tape them up? Solder them together? Use a tiny wire nut?
Who put a fog machine in my pedal?

biggy boy

I solder wires to the LED leads then put a piece of heat shrink over it.

I save the insulation from the larger gage wires that I strip and use those to insulate one of the legs from the other. I just leave one leg a little shorter than the other so they can't touch eachother.

What I do is take a small Piece of PCB and solder the LED to the PCB and solder the Resistor to the PCB and then the wires to the PCB , and then to mount it in the Hole in the enclosure I put a bit a Crazy glue on the PCB and stick the LED in the Hole of the enclosure and hold it for a few seconds till it sticks ....

this way I don"t have to worry about Shrink tubeing or shorting the wires together accidently or worry about the leads of the LED breaking from too much movement .... Pluss it looks neater ....

I mostly do my own PCB layouts from the schematics I want to build. I try to orient the LED so I can solder the leads from the LED in place the last thing I do when I mount the PCB in the box. This way the PCB holds the LED in place. I don't know if its the best way but it works and gives me a easy way of mounting the LED.
