Function generator chips that are still available?

I was starting to think about the fun possibilities of the 8038 function generator - all kinds of cool synthy ring modulated stuff was possible. Sine, triangle and square from one chip with minimal external components, FM input, etc. But it and all of the similar stuff - ICL8038, MAX038 - seems to have been discontinued.

Are there any current-production chips that do all this stuff? (This might be pushing it, but) Are there any that can run on a single 9v supply, or is the charge pump solution always necessary with this kind of IC?

Thanks, I'm not looking at this for a bench tool, but more as part of an effect.

2206 looks very good. Probably won't work on a single supply, so I'll have to work out a solution there. I'm all about having things run with a standard supply. I wish the synth guys and pedal guys had made a pact 30 years ago to just go with the same power scheme.

Futurlec has them for $5. I bought one in my last shipment, I have yet to see how it compares to the ICL8038. If I like it, I might buy more. The ICL8038 I have is one useful chip, my only qualm with it was the terrible duty cycle adjustment.

You could put together a +/-15v power supply for pretty cheap.

I got 10 of them from Future Electronics for $26.00.  They WILL run on a single supply from 10V - 26V (I always use 12V).

Wow! They must have got them in stock recently, because I feel like I have checked mouser for all the variants of the xr2206, icl8038, etc. a thousand times and only come up with obsolete replacements marked $30-40......

It does... mine works with a single supply of 18VDC. It is then regulated to 12V and 5V by a couple of 7812 and 7805
