I finished my Red Llama/TSF and like it alot.  I checked into circuits like gaussmarkov's 49er and am interested in playing around with the TSF/RL....  I came across a digest of old posts about it.  There is discussion about Mark Hammer's additions to this circuit...  I wonder if any layouts were created

There is a layout for the Tube Sound Fuzz in the Craig Anderton book, Electronic Projects for Musicians.  PAIA used to sell the pcb's.

I have the EPFM but the circuit there is the basic one - not the one with Mark's improvements.  It is a great book, in fact, it's where I started with this crazy addiction to stompboxes!  What's really cool is that over at GGG he has put up a bunch of PCB layouts that you can use with the book as a guide - you have to search around for it under "other projects".

and one that's a bit more complex with what I guess is the low pass filter Mark mentions - so there is a block before the main circuit and one after.  This is the one:

The second is the one I'd like to build... I'm just no good at producing layouts unless they are super simple...  anybody feel like giving it a whirl?  I'll help in whatever capacity I can...

Well....  this has been very frustrating.  I just can't seem to make a layout work.....  can anybody help me out?  Is there some secret to it?

Sorry to be so late in replying.  Kinda preoccupied with family stuff this week.

The lowpass filter part is not really all that essential.  I've built the essential part (the op-amp front end and the inverter part) several times.  The schematic posted at GEOFEX was something I think I made in 1988.  The filter was nice but perhaps more trouble than it was worth.  Every bit as fun...AND with a layout...is the Forty-Niner, which you can find detailed here: http://gaussmarkov.net/wordpress/circuits/forty-niner/  The original set of documents, with soundclip, is here: http://hammer.ampage.org/files/FortyNiner-1.zip  Scroll down page 1 here: http://hammer.ampage.org/   and you'll see a description of what's in the soundclip.  It runs the pedal through its paces and describes settings.

I haven't field-tested the layout, but no one has complained yet.  The unit uses a simple and effective SWTC tone control.  Not as "surgical" as a 2-pole lowpass, but one heck of a lot easier to make since it does not use a dual-ganged pot.  The resonant booster stage is optional, but if you're gonna have a dual op-amp in there anyway, may as well put the other half to use.

I've been thinking about going with the 49er....  I don't particularly want the boost but I think I can work around it.  Glad to hear that I can go with a simple filter....  thanks so much.  I'll keep it updated/
