350K pot ?

Hey all,

I should probably know this...but I'm stumped.....

I'm working on a rehouse for a fellow and the pedal has a B350K pc mount pot in it...and I need a 16mm panel mount.

The existing pot is marked B354

Can I fab up a 350K out of something else ?

Strap a 1M resistor across a 500k pot will get you close (about 333k)

... or an A350k (log though) pot with a tap (which you can ignore) halfway down this link

What's the application for the pot? The value may not be crucial

  "B" could mean linear taper.
 Depending on the assignment of the original pot, a 250k or 500k might be fine, fairly likely.

If it's a linear pot (which is most likely is "B") then get a 500K(B) pot and strap a 1.2M resistor across the outer lugs. Would be pretty easy to mount the resistor underneath the PCB.

Maybe you got some 500K guitar pots, measure their real value; in my experience most of them have lower resistance than they should have, some measure only 300k.

B is linear with most American and Japanese pots and linear with most European makes.
If the old pot is not completely wrecked, you can set it halfway and measure if it's lin or log.

In any case, you could easily approximate a 350K linear pot using a 500K linear pot and with a couple of 510K resistors in parallel with it.

Weber Speakers sells a tapped 350k audio pot, if that would work.  It's about $2.  You wouldn't need to use the tap, but it is audio.
