Anyone? The noise does sound like the rushing wave as mentioned above, but is only present when turning the tone knob. I suppose I may try the trim pot or 50k resistor if no one has any suggestions. I assume that everyone else's noise was constant?

Floor-mat at the front entrance to my former place of employment. Oh... the irony.
