I am building the Beginners' Project.

When I was at the electronics store I happened across a metal box that I grabbed, but it was $20, so I don't want to do that for each project.

I was wondering what most people use for enclosures?
What are some El Cheapo alternatives?

And is there a thread about wacky, wonderful, weird stompbox enclosures people have used?  I guess you can use anything that'll fit the insides.  I saw a wooden box today I thought would go OK.

I know there are many more examples. You just have to dig around a bit.

Thanks Greenfuz.

That's exactly what I was looking for, and that thread had links to the longest thread I've ever seen-the pics thread.

Some very cool and well-done creative enclosures.  The cardboard box and the engine block are some of my faves so far.  I've favourited the pics thread.

Thanks again.  I'm guessing the gree Big Muff is your favourite?

Sometimes old cd-rom drives can be emptied into excellent enclosures.
Sometimes to do it right, you have to Do It Yourself.
