Need Help With Bypass Switch Popping Weirdness

I built a clone of a pedal that I will keep anonymous here. It works and sounds great, but I am annoyed and perplexed by a popping problem that I have. It pops when it's on my pedalboard [regulated] common power supply, but if I power it via a battery, it doesn't pop. When I first built it, it popped even with a battery, but I added a DC blocking cap on the output of each channel and it stopped doing it. It already has a pulldown resistor on the input, and one on the output didn't make any difference.

I also did notice that when powered by the common power supply, when the controls are at certain postions, the tone control kind of crackles similar to the "Crackle OK" knob on the Z Vex SHO. The tone control is inserted right before the output of either channel's output. The crackle indicates to me that I have some DC floating around, but I am not sure why or where it's coming from. AFAIK, it shouldn't be popping like that, and there shouldn't be any DC on the controls.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? If so, how did you fix it?!

If I was faced with this, I'd use my voltmeter to run down where the DC is coming from.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Yeah, I was headed down that road in my thought process. I guess that's what I need to do then. Thanks!
