Ok I just recently finished the 3 legged dog from rog  and my only complaint is that at anything from about 10 oclock on it hisses gradually increasing and gets more trebly as I go. Any thoughts? Built as per schematic and layout.

To both builders - which layout did you use?

Sometime ago I used this layout: http://www.runoffgroove.com/3ld-new.pdf (thx to W. Percival!)
Now I have one built the layout from here (select from the left menu): http://www.freewebs.com/loudnoise/ (thx to M. Allen!)

Thank you very much B. Tremblay!

I used your layout brian, just trying to figure out if I did something wrong a lot of the parts are from radioshack. If need be I can get some pictures of my build posted!

OK, now it's time to follow the steps of the debug thread and post the results here.

When I built mine a while ago now, I added a tone control on the output. I thought it sounded pretty good, never had a problem with it sounding harsh. Probably because I added a tone control, which I usually do on any build that doesn't have one...

Just a real basic tone control like what is used on a guitar. I don't remember the exact values that I used, it's been several years now.

No problem, thx anyway Paul!

solved my problem. Turn off the flourescents and put it in a aluminum box. Now it just sounds awesome!  :icon_biggrin:

Glad to hear! I have no fluorescents, but I will try to isolate it more :)
