Hello all.
I had this posted on another forum and was directed to this great page.
I am building a "reverse" a/b box to switch two stereo preamp outputs (mesa pre and a 2101) into a single set of outputs/inputs
to my mesa 2:90 power amp (sort of like a non midi gcx).
My question is.. do/should I switch the non used preamp outputs ("open" via the relay) through a 50 ohm resistor to ground (loading the outputs when they are off). Or just let them be open when that preamp is switched off.
Both the mesa pre and the 2102 will be hot (y-cable) all of the time.
I built it last night with the outputs grounded and it works great but I want to make sure I don't mess up the preamps.
Thanks for any help.
Jd.

You'll be fine as is. You won't hurt the preamps by not having them hooked to a load, that's only with power amps.
