Long story short, I built a Condore a long time ago and by accident I found that it sounds great when plugged directly to a clean amp. So as a result I'm building an amp and would like to include the condore to shape the tone. My question is, what parts if any can be ommited from the condore when connecting it to an active tone stack? Obviously I don't want to change the tone, but I would like to use as little parts as possible to achieve my goal.

Right now my stages are:

Distortion
Condore (in stompbox form)
Active tone stack
Amp

Schemo is here:  http://www.runoffgroove.com/condor.html

Thanks!!

If you like the sound, don't omit any parts.  What you can do to find out is use a cable with alligator clips on the ends to connect different parts of your Condor as your "output" to the next stage.  See if at some point the sound becomes less desirable and you then know that you need that part.  The thing with the condor is that it is basically a series of set filters.  I personally wouldn't change anything if the sound was what I wanted.  You might try the Condor in conjunction with the TOnemender, as it is the most flexible tonestack I have used yet.

Thanks, thats what I thought. But I wanted to be sure because I didn't want to include a bunch of extra parts. As far as the tonemender, thanks for the tip! I'm gonna breadboard one today, as I am currently struggling to get my midrange to smoothly follow the spectrum. It's either scooped or not scooped. But nothing really useful in between.

Thanks again!!

BTW...I now realize I spelled Condor wrong several times!  :icon_redface:
