Hi everybody..

A little bit about me..

I live in the UK, I'm a web Developer, My hobbies are martial arts, electronics and making music.

I only started playing the guitar early this year (I'm teaching myself and it's not going to good  :(), and decided I'd have a crack at building my own pedals..

so my first peadal was the Big Muff Pi (green russian).. and here it is... it sounds amazing..

I'm sure many more people have built the BMP... I would love to see em all..

Cheers

Daz

Welcome here! Nice build!!!  :icon_wink:
but I guess you are in the wrong place if you wanna see MUFF!!!  :icon_lol:

I think every one of the 14907 members made at least one BM... I can show you my two:

this was a BSIAB at first, but it didn't suit my playing... now a triangle big muff lives there... (actually today I am gonna give this as a present to a friend of mine who leaves the town...)

this, on the blue side, is a IC big muff... much better sounding in my opinion... the distortion and sustain are just amazing!!

(still waiting for switches...)

EDIT: thank you adriano for that! (to confirm the stereotype: the two italians are the first ones to reply when the post is about MUFFs...)
Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.

Garage Big Muff

PS Three italians for the muff  ;D
Sorry for my very bad english but i'm italian! (and i think you've understood that!)

Ram's Head with mid scoop mod.  2N5133 low gain transistors really give this one the tone!

Green Russian And Perestroïka  ::) modded one

I know, but the pedal i built does not boost...it just increases volume!

My Triple Big Muff: a new one in which I'd put a Triangle, a Ram's Head and a Green Russian which can be selected using a 9P3T old russian switch (in this way I can share 3 pots to 3 Muffs)!!! The LED has 3 colors: red for Triangle, blue for Ram's Head and, of course, green for Green Russian.

In the next weeks I want to add a switch to select between Ram's Head/Violet Ram's Head and another one switch to select from Violet Ram's Head and Jumbo Tonebender :)

Now, let's see what's in:

That wiring honors the EH logo...MEDUSA!!!

Thanks Rick! I got to admit that i'm always impress by the cleanliness of your build, outside and inside. Your wiring is insane! Does the Clip pots is really usefull and effective? I mean, does it really change the sound in a perceptible way?

Somewhere between a GGG tuned and a Rams Head built on a home-etched GGG board with carbon resistors I had from ratshack.  Thought it would sound awful, but it totally kills. Cool hazy blue led from a dollar store flashlight.

Rick, you are the master of perf. My perfboard looks horrendous compared to yours. Awesome!

My Muff ╥ out of the dusty closet.

+1 on that. Here's my attempt at perfing a BMP

The circuit is a ram's but I used a 4PDT switch to change these things

right:                                       left:
Tone section in                         Tone section lift
Output Cap = .1                       Output Cap =  .22
Q1&Q3 Power Resistors = 10k   Q1&Q3 Power Resistors = 22k

I just built the IC based muff from RunOffGroove and I think I'll put it in a similar box and give it away.
