I built a Micro Amp up and originally used a tlo71 as the ic. When i ran 18 volts it wouldnt work. I swapped the chip out for a lm741 and it works great at 9 or 18. Can someone teach me why this is?
Thanks

There shouldn't be a problem with running a TL071 at 18V. It is rated for +/- 18V supply voltage and if you are running it on 18V, you are only giving it half of that. Maybe yours is defective.

Bad batch?
Where did you get the 071's from?
