Anyone know some basic pedals to build "quick?"

I am looking for some decent projects to build that i can build fairly "quick" and that are as cost effecient as possible.  I have some friends whose kids play and wont something handmade so i figure christmas time is right around the corner.....Any help would be great.  btw im new to the board this week and you guys are by far the most helpful of anyone i talked to, ill try to help out where i can

Simple single-discrete boosts would probably be quick.  Sparkle Boost, SHO, Fetzer Valve, LPB-1, etc...  Anything with 1-2 Knobs and a single transistors or FET.








Edit:  Or a Burst Box, for the Jack White sound....

yeah not a lot going on around the house and i am trying to line my orders up.  you should see all the reading of other peoples posts im doing WAY more than my own haha
