as the subject says.... the easiest place to get them from is RS components but they cost a fortune. at least shipping is free.

i need these two:

27134PSLA  111x31x60mm

1590BB 119x94x30mm

no, i don't want to go to jaycar. they sell fragile little things.

thanks guys. hopefully somebody knows a little hideaway somewhere.

Are the Jaycar / Altronics ones really that bad?  I've never had any issues with them...

The 1590b sized box which Jaycar sells is a bit smaller than the Hammond, and isn't quite deep enough to put a 9V battery in on its narrow side.
However, their 1590BB equivalent is reasonably decent.

prices are pretty much the same. the BB one is a bit cheaper though from memory, but these guy may charge to get it delivered so it's probably around the same.

Altronics is probably okay, like most of their stuff, but last i looked they didn't have the sizes i want without it having a tiny screw hole flange, so i've never bought from them

the jaycar 'soarer' or whatever the brand is ones are a very diluted down aluminium which makes them weak, and they are very thin. i've smashed all of my enclosures a few times with sledge hammers and driven over them to test them and theirs are the worst. so much in fact that doing a centre punch before drilling dents the whole surface if there's nothing supporting underneath.

the price is good, but what realllllly ticks me off about them is that the metal is so thin, then they somehow indent the brand name on the inside making some parts less than 1mm thick. i did a large batch once and where the foot switch would go went through the logo and bits chipped out in drilling from being so thin.

continued rant... etc. lol. glad that's out of my system.

by the time you finish with a pedal in a hammond enclosure and with a battery it has a nice heavy feel to it. they are also much easier to prep in sanding as they don't have those nasty gouges on the sides,
