digikey was sold out of 50v and i accidentally ordered 500v instead. its still the correct value just high voltage. will that be ok to use?

You'll be fine using that. I did the same thing once ordering 600v caps from Smallbear. The only issue is they are HUGE!

Just don't exceed the rated voltage.

Yikes. You might have problems fitting it in the enclosure, that's all.

I've got a bag of one hundred 3000V caps sitting here... another Mouser misstep.

Doug is right about size. These caps can get ridiculously big.

  I went through a long DS-1's phase.
  Sold the DS-1 when I went ''digit-tube''.
Ik, Managed a 3 boss pedalboard soon after that, whew.
Then the DS-1's came and went again, 4 and there's one around here, could get 'em for 5's or 10's in the day, was searchin' for the 'ol DS-1 tone.
They were all at least a touch different, nothing like the first one I was actually fond of.
There's one out in the garage IIRC with a mod gone wrong.
  I also built one.

I dont personally care for the ds1 myself, im moding for  a friend.  I have always heard the old ds1's were better, what is the difference?

I don't remember hating the old ones tone control, it must not have gone from mud to harsh like the new ones.
Just seemed smoother and thicker in general..dunno what the actual difference are/were.
Same amp and all [pedals would come 'n go of course], just couldn't get rid of the raspy gnarls.
