Anyone got a link to a good DIY pickups guide, with a little bit of theory behind it too?

Jason Lollar wrote a book about pickup winding. I've been trying to track it down myself.
There's also this. http://www.stewmac.com/freeinfo/i-1465.html

Jasons book is ok, but its very basic. Its not work more than $20, but currently fetches $200.

The absolute best resource out there is the Pickup Makers forum on Music-Electronics-Forum. Just do a google search for pickup makers forum. send me you E-mail address and I'll see f I can  send you some good links. svirfnebli@hotmail.com

I have Jason's book.  It's no big deal unless you are a complete beginner and don't know what you are searching.  All the necessary info for building pickups is on the net.

The pickup makers forum on the Music Electronics Forum has a wealth of experience among the regulars there.  Those folks are pretty generous with their knowledge too.

Hey, I found John Fisher... choice! Lost him when I lost my last PC. Friend from the ol' ampage days.
