last February, long before i was into DIY , i bought a TS808 clone for the cheaps. well, you really get what you pay for: volume pot didint cut volume, it was always above unity gain even with pot full CCW; there was no dirt at first, only sort of clean ("very" little dirt to be honest); and worst, the Tone pot makes loud rumbling sounds in the background when wiper is on either side.

i tried to fix the circuit using very little knowledge (to no avail  :icon_biggrin:) but i seemed to resolve some of the problems after i etched another pcb myself and transferred the components - volume pot works and there is overdrive - and all parts are in the right places. but the loud rumbling sounds didnt go away.

really frustrated, i pulled the circuit board out of the pedal (the enclosure i salvaged and used in another build) and kept the circuit. last night i finally had the inertia to take the voltages.

schem is from tonepad!  ;D thanks FP!

voltages:

IC1 - TL072 (i even replaced it with a jrc4558d, same thing  >:( )

1 - 4.2
2 - 4.27
3 - 3.4
4 - 0.0
5 - 3.0
6 - 3.05
7 - 3.2
8 - 9.0

Q1
C - 9.0
B - 0.4
E - 2.88

Q2
C - 9.0
B - 0.45
E - 2.5

thanks in advance guys!
i am what i am, so are you.
