hi all, I'm new here though been lurking for a few months- excellent forum!

I've done a few builds and I am now thinking about a Dr Boogey but fancy doing it on veroboard for convenience (I don't have the kit to etch and drill a bespoke PCB unfortunately).

The only layout I can see is this one- though I'm not sure if its verified- I know that since this was done there were some changes made to the tone stack (dropped the pot values by a factor of ten, yeah?).

Does anyone know if this layout is good- or better yet has anyone built it?

I've built from that layout (by the previous veroboarder Torchy wherever he may be) and it works fine  ;)

Yeah the tone stack did have its values changed and a few components on board were changed aswell,

These were the changes as far as I know:

Slope Resistor:        was 47k    now 4k7
Treble Cap:             was 680p  now 6n8
Mid Cap:                 was 22n    now 220n
Bass Cap                 was 22n    now 220n
Treble Pot:              was 250k  now 25k
Mid Pot:                  was 25k    now 2k5
Bass Pot:                was  1M   now 100k
Volume Pot             was  1M   now 100k
Presence Resistor    was 22k   now 2k2
Presence Pot           was 100K now 10k
Presence Cap          was 3n   now 30n

And here's the new parts list for ease (The parts in brackets are values that I used that might be easier to find and work fine)
R1 1M
R2 1k8
R3 2M2
R4 680k
R5 470k
R6 1k8
R7 470k
R8 1M
R9 4k7
R10 330k
R11 220k
R12 1k8
R13 10k
R14 4k7
R15 2k2

C1 100uF
C2 1uF
C3 22nF
C4 2n2
C5 1nF
C6 20pF (Or 22pF
C7 5nF (Or 4n7)
C8 1uF
C9 22nF
C10 1nF
C11 22nF
C12 1uF
C13 6n8
C14 220nF

wow mate thanks, thats so helpful

No Problem & welcome to the Forum  :)

cheers mate, the forum is great, and I already suspect this pedal building thing might become quite addictive  :icon_mrgreen:

Consider yourself forwarned...a bunch of enablers here. Watch out...there's a few amp builders here too looking to get you hooked as well.  ;D

hehe, thats what I thought  ;D

this Dr Boogey project- a few things I'm not sure about, is there any advice anyone can offer on choosing capacitors? would the basic ceramic disc ones suffice? (other that the couple of electrolytics of course)

also- I noticed a few guys have used fixed resistors in place of the trim pots (I read somewhere this helps with noise)- has anyone done that and if so what are the benefits?

thanks for the help guys!
