Replacement foot switch for my Twin

I have a Fender Twin ('76 I think) with a Rev/Trem footswitch that's only about 7' long.  I want to make a new switch that will have two 1/4" jacks so I can use a longer cable, but I'm fairly new to the whole DIY electronics thing. How new? Well, I've successfully built an A/B box with LEDs and a General Guitar Gadgets ITS8, but I'm still fuzzy on basic circuit concepts. With this foot switch I want LEDs.  I'll use a stereo guitar cable with 1/4" jacks on the pedal side, and RCA jacks on the amp side (the Rev & Trem jacks on the Twin are RCA).
Here's what I think I'll need:
--One small enclosure (a 1290 or 125B style)
--Two switches (DPDT...I think)
--Two LEDs (violet & orange) (have to find what ohm resistors for these)
--DC jack
--multiple color wire

Anyone have a schematic I could use?

On second thought, I guess I need DPST switches, right? The original foot switch has SPST switches, and I'm just adding LEDs.

Looks like you got it pretty much figured out. You can use DPDT switches as they'll likely be easier to find.

Well... I have the parts figured out, but I'm shaky on the wiring.
Is it just 4 circuits? One for the Reverb (on/off), one for the Reverb LED (on/off), one for the Tremolo (on/off), and one for the Tremolo LED (on/off)?

For example: Can I go from the Rev jack tip to one pole of the switch, then from the corresponding pole back to the Rev jack sleeve? With the Rev LED do I go from the DC jack HOT to the resistor, to the anode of the LED, then from the cathode back to ground?

Thanks
