DIY, 100% wet, square wave tremolo?

Any recommendations? A friend asked about this, and I'd like to build him something as an xmas surprise. He wants pure chop, no un-affected signal.

(the simpler the better... he doesn't need a lot of control other than speed and maybe volume)

The Kay Tremolo, which you can find a clone of on GGG is pretty close to squarewave... not square enough that it clicks, but much steeper than a regular trem.

Very simple too.

Bingo.  You don't want square.  What you want is trapezoidal.  I.E., slower than instantaneous rise and fall, but a clearly defined "on" period.

That makes sense. I didn't really think about the actual waveform, just knew he wanted chop city. Thanks Mark.

Pulsar=chop city for sure.  Tremulus lune will do it as well, amongst many, many other things
