hi there!!

so, here is the thing: my millennium bypass only works when I'm in contact with the control connection to the bypass switch. I have made all the connections correctly, used the mosfet and 2n3904(low leakage diode) version and using a wall wart power supply from an old computer speakers. I think the problem may be on the amount of voltage passing to the circuit, but really, I don't know, I'm just guessing.

I have no background in electronics, stompboxes are only an hobby for the weekend to me...

If someone can help, it would be truly appreciated.

thanks once again,
Luís

What is the schematic of the FX you are using with millenium bypass ... the only thing that is in my mind for now is that you don't have a pull-up resistor. Post the schematic and i will try to give you the answer.

it's a standard SHO.
I've already tried a 100k resistor on the control to ground (this would make the circuit not work at all), two different BS170 on the M.B. ...

So, I really think it's the amount of voltage passing through the circuit. Could be that? Put a resistor in series between the circuit and and the 9v source?

thanks in advance

This doesn't exactly solve the milenium bypass issue....

But the Nice thing about the SHO is that it's got a really nice 'sound,' that you probably like since you built one....

Instead of switching the input and outputs...you could wire it with a DPDT to switch an LED on one side, and then simply switch between the 5k pot or a 5k (5.6k, even) resistor connecting to ground.   You could eliminate all pulldowns, to boot.   Then, in 'bypass' you're simply getting the sound of the pot on '0' at about unity gain, and are more or less switching the pot on/off.  Then it's like a 'tone enhancer'/boost, and in bypass has a 5k output impedance, which is not quite, but almost buffer-like, to boot.

Just a thought you may not have thought...

that's a great idea that i didn't come up with!! maybe I'll give it a try!

but back to the millennium issues, i think i know where the problem is, I'm wiring the pull down resistor on the wrong place.
it should be on the output of the fx circuit, right? well, I've tried to wire it on the control wire, and the problem might be there.

I'll check it back on the weekend, since during the week I'm away from home... and I've got through the SEARCH function, i and found a post from R.G. that should be enough to solve my problem.

but i really like your idea liquid, be sure I'll keep it in mind, thanks!!

I thought of this today, though....you will probably get some 'crackle' doing this, when you switch it.  now I'm curious...do keep us posted on your progress!   :)
