I've always been really impressed by the Music From Outer Space site, and now they have a guitar pedal project!

Sounds pretty good too!  Also doesn't require a dual voltage supply.

There were a couple of thread about this a while back. The follower part of the circuit seems particularly effective listening to the soundclips.
