I have a boss EQ that work perfect with a 9v but wont work at all with the wallwart (which has to be used for this set up) any advice on what could cause this

bad wallwart? Have you checked it out on any other pedals?

Also, could be that your wiring for the DC jack has failed, or perhaps the could be a more serious problem, but I'd check the wallwart, then open up the pedal.

check the wallwart and put a new jack on it and still doesnt work. think it could be the wiring leading to the dc jack?

Also check andmake sure that the wallwart is outside ring us plus 9 volts and the inner ring is 0 volts.  Maybe the walkwart is backwards.
